In this edition, we joined forces with two other labels: GERGAZ (SLO) with GLGN and JIMMY Pé label; a small community of people with a need to present their music or other related work. The label’s main focus is to release a non-commercial work of unknown artists or projects.
We’re also working with Beat Broke (USA), an Austin, TX-based record label that works with a lot of European artists, supported by Leadsmen Dutch electronic duo who create dark, pulsating soundscapes layered with bubbling synths and pounding percussion (similar team as seen on Mad-Hop vol.5 ( Mad-Love )!)
To spread the love even further, we have a special videos coming soon too! Keep your eyes and ears prised on the developing Mad-Hop scene. We hope you’ll enjoy this compilation and appreciate the work of the MadHoppers !

Interview by Katarzyna Janik
In one of the interview I’ve read that your music career started with FruityLoops when you were 14. Do you archive your music since the beginning? Do you still have your first recordings?
Haha! I’ve got a folder somewhere with some of my first beats. They are so goofy, but they definitely got a certain charm because of the kinda innocence of them. Haven’t listened to them for ages, I think I might go dig them out right now if I can find them!
If you had to pick the most import ant moment in your career, what would it be?
I’m not sure about importance, but one of the funniest memories for me was first time I toured in the States and I played a crazy lil’ festival in Oregon. I stayed for the whole weekend and partied with all the hippies in their waistcoats and stuff. It was like a mini burning man in the woods. Very odd experience for me, but very memorable. I’ve had lots of fun times though, haha!
How much has your music changed for the last couple of years?
My music always seems to be changing. Ever since I first started I’ve always wanted to just try new things and have fun with it. People sometimes say to me “Why don’t you make music like you used to?” or something but I don’t care ‘cos I prefer to switch it up. I just do music for fun and for me there is no fun in sticking with the same ideas for years on end. My new new stuff is a bit more refined and maybe a bit more chill but that’s not to say that is what I am “about” now. I like to be unpredictable, lol.
You have created a lot of remixes. Do you prefer making remixes or producing your own tracks?
It’s sort of the same process for me, but it’s nice to have the initial catalyst of an existing track to drive the creative process. I love writing music regardless of the elements that go into it. Sometimes it is fun to hear a track and imagine what you would do to it though.
Looking through your Facebook profile, reading your posts, looking at the pictures I see you as a very postivie person? Are you an optimist?
I guess so! No use being a grump out here.
You’re playing in Poland in May. Would it be your first visit in this country?
No, I’ve played here a few times actually. Always had lots of fun in Poland
What can Polish audience expect from your performance? Lots of fun? Total madness on the dancefloor?
I will be doing my usual kinda party DJ set and it’s gonna be lots of fun and I will probably be drunk and play all the best songs. I don’t have a solid plan of what to play, so it could go anywhere depending how the vibe is! I’ll play a bunch of unreleased stuff from myself and my frenz!
And what do you expect from the audience that you play for? Does the way they react for you and your music influence you in any way?
It sure does! Hopefully we’ll all have a fun time.
Has it ever happened that the audience demotivated you and you wanted to finish your concert as soon as possible?
Hahaha! Yes. Doesn’t happen very often though.
You are preparing a track for „Mad-Hop vol. 8” compilation. What are your other plans for 2014?
I’ve got a new EP coming on my own label Activia Benz very soon, and then will just continue to write music and play shows. I’ve got plans to work with more vocalists this year also, but can’t announce anything yet
Who would you like to record with?
There’s lots of people I would love to work with, and hopefully will one day, but possibly top of my list would be Busta Rhymes… Fingers crossed!
In which country you’d like to play?
Is there something special that you’d like to achieve in your music career?
One day I will do a wicked rap. Then I’ll be truly happy.
In May Mad- Hop Records will celebrate the release of its eighth compilation.
This time you can expect a summer climate of chilly and glitchy music exploring the variety of styles and genres.
In addition to the Mad- Hop team of Kixnare , Minoo , Zova, en2ak and Raq , we’ll also have a special guest with us

Mad-Hop vol.8 prides itself on releasing music for open minded people who look forward to exploring the variety of styles and genres that are eclectically chosen with each Mad-Hop release, a mission statement we will be continuing in the upcoming compilation no.8 We don’t want to limit big spectrum that exists within electronic music, and so expect to continually see Mad-Hop push the envelope on modern electronic music genres and styles. This time, to further raise the ‚variety bar’, the tracks are gonna be divided into two sides: nice and easy vs crazy and aggressive! Get ready for the biggest
After two years from the premiere of the latest album, Minoo releases the video for the track titled “Run in Town”.
“After two years from the premiere of the latest album, Minoo releases the video for the track titled “Run in Town”.
“All the World” is the second Minoo’s album released on Mad-Hop label in August 2012. The whole material oscillates on border of electronics and experimental hip-hop what has been already marked on his debut – “White Mice” released on Asfalt Records in 2011.
In video for “Run in Town” we will see one of the most recognizable Polish rappers - O.S.T.R.
The video itself represents some worrisome city scenes. Protests, fights and graffiti on the train – these captures suggest some kind of individual’s revolt against the system. The whole was enriched by the interlude that not many would expect.
12′ vinyl order
Previously released video from compilation „Mad-Hop vol.7” also features two tracks from the album “Slow Down„
The video starts with Myamo‚s laid-back and sexy „Maybe” City lights blur as the camera pans by prostitutes working their posts behind windows in what appears to be a European Red Light District. Shots of another girl laying on her back, laughing flirtatiously and hands plucking marijuana buds slip and and out.
Ganju‚s half of the video, featuring „Spirit of the Forest” juxtaposes these images with some nature shots. We take a surreal trip into the forest sliced occasionally by streaks of video taken from other, similar shots.

Born in a digital age, Mad-Hop began as a Last.FM group. Quickly it found its place in underground music with regular digital compilations. Those early releases already had an international tracklist, made from the finest producers of a global beat scene.
On the Friday 13th, 2013, the Mad Black Cat is gonna bring you this label’s first physical release, involving multiple artists: „Mad13.” A release party is planned for the same day in Amsterdam at Warmoesstraat 129.
Grounded in a party sound, the album offers many different styles: there’s a solid dose of bass music, together with post-trap , post-juke, moombah, and so on. „Mad 13” gathers artists from around the globe: USA, Australia, Holland, Ukraine, Canada, Russia, and Poland. On aboard are Daeadelus, Ta-ku, Pixelord, 813, Koloah, Minoo, Thomas White, H-sik, and J(ay).A.D.
„Things have changed since the days when shiny plastic discs ruled the earth, but that’s not gonna stop us from having our albums on wax and passing CDs around the globe. We’re still on our way… going further into the 21st century’s beat phenomena. Don’t give up – and free your mind! May music and people continue to evolve worldwide.”
Keep it Mad!!!
V/A „Mad13„ is coming soon let’s check the snippet !
Since 2009, we’ve been creating a platform for creative artists from all over the world – people who aren’t afraid to experiment with their music and imagery.” Those adventures take place in the realms of abstract hip-hop, broken beats, idm, dubstep, trap, juke, and glitch-hop. The reason for all these efforts is straightforward: „We’re thinking of how to make the world better.„
Mad-Hop is proud to present our first physical compilation with the release date set for Friday 13th of September 2013. International collection of absolutely incredible tracks from world’s finest experimental beats producers like:
Daedelus - Eccentric, Contagious, Electrifying. These are some words you could use to describe American electronic artist Daedelus (Alfred Darlington). Experiencing the totality his work is only achievable through a large scope. Over the course of a shocking number of LPs, EPs, remixes, and most importantly live improvised appearances; a portrait of an unique artist has been painted in bold strokes.Alfred was born in Santa Monica in 1977 to an artist mother and psychologist father. Musical from very early on, as a child he was classically and jazz-trained in a number of instruments, but his interests were broad and varied – less a prodigy than a renaissance boy whose obsessions ranged from Greek legend to the mountains of Wales. As a 15 year old he finally persuaded his parents to take him to the Principality. Whilst in a YMCA in London he flipped the radio dial, found a pirate radio station and taped some UK rave and hardcore. “It was my first ‘Eureka!’ moment in music,” he says.
Minoo - „All the World” it’s new Minoo album realesed on (Mad-Hop Records). On his second album, the producer from Krakow follows the path he marked out on his debut “White Mice” (Asfalt Records, 2011). Outcome oscillates on the border of experimental hip-hop and electronics introducing a consistent climate. A novelty for fans of Minoo may be invited guests. We can hear not only great Polish MC’s and producer (O.S.T.R., Teielte, ZBRKLKU) but also from those from other countries (Jon Kennedy, DJ.3kc, Oh-Neco, Pixelord). „All the World” is released in two versions – digital , which you can download from Bandcamp, and on exclusive transparent vinyl, which you can buy directly from Mad-Hop .
Ta-ku - The Red Bull Music Academy alumni quickly captured the world’s attention and with the amount of releases he has clocked up for labels like Brownswood, HW&W, Soulection and Project Mooncircle as well as collaborations with Chet Faker and remixes for Justin Timberlake, Flume, The Presets, Hermitude and Snakadaktal, Ta-ku looks set to continue with a crackling schedule set for 2013 already locked in.From an early output of dusty beat samples, this disciple of The Ummah can cut and chop Hip-Hop beats in his sleep, yet it is his current material which shows a dancefloor edge not yet heard from the producer but already clocking up runs on the board like the inclusion of many tracks from Re-Twerk on man of the moment Baauer’s (Lucky Me/Mad Decent) new mix for RINSE FM.Available for DJ sets and Production panels, Ta-ku will soon emerge from the studio to be one of the most formidable live Producer acts in the country.
Mike G - Hailing from Austin, Texas by way of Los Angeles, Mike G has emerged as an up and coming artist in the underground club music scene. His sound draws influences from everything to jersey club, footwork, hip hop and more but is always embodied by his signature style. His releases span an array of labels such as Freshmore, Car Crash Set, and Soukouch Ethnik and have gained support from DJ Rashad, B Traits, Brenmar, Machinedrum, Toddla T,and many more.
Koloah - Dj and producer from Kiev – Dmitry Avksentiev. Producing his own tracks since 2004. For today there are a few releases on Russian and foreign labels like : Cut , Soulection , Hyperboloid , Soukouch Ethnik, Robox Neotech, RAW. Dmitry ceases to delight the audience with their creativity and it shows that in Ukraine there are musical potential, which is able to qualitatively compete with Western producers. His tracks are played on radio stations world-famous BBC Radio1 Extra, OneRecent etc. Played on some European festivals like: Outlook(Croatia), NoBorder(Poland), Supines(Lithuania). His tunes was played by the monsters as Dj Shadow, Pete Tong, B. Trains.. etc. His live performances full of various tricks and improvisations!
813 - a member of RAD comunity. In the past he was a firefighter. 813 played with : Hudson Mohawke , MF Doom , Moby , UZ , Zomby , Onra , Obey City , B. Bravo and more. FEATURED ON : Pitchfork , Mixmag , XLR8R , Yours Truly SF, Earmilk , Indie Shuffle , Sonic Router , Potholes in my blog. Printed magazines : Esquire (Russia), DJ Mag (Russia) , DJ Mag (Spain) , DJ Mag ( Britain ) , DJ Am (Ukraine ) , Hooligan , WTF? Now that the 813 plays in his live programs he describes as a Hypercolor / Hyperdetail R & B, sometimes using children’s synthesizers, sylofon , tape cassettes and others not quite accustomed to the game device, giving it all in the form of positive vibrations.
Pixelord - is Alexey Devyanin. He’s a Moscow-based veteran of experimental music, best-known for his Gultskra Artikler moniker. When we got to know that his new project is about BEATS, it was instantly clear that is has to be groundbreaking great.
His debut four-track EP “Lucid Freaks” brings forth a mixture of spliffed-out 8bit riddims, stumbling Hip Hop beats and a pinch of Euro Dance glam. However unique, the weirdo plastic Pop of Glasgow’s Hudson Mohawke is echoed in his tunes as well as bass-driven digital Reggae, Jahtari-style.
H-sik + J(ay).A.D - Born in Abidjan, H-sik was immersed in traditional African music, especially influenced by his families music,TP Audio Rama. Hip Hop became a big influences for H-sik once living in France. Currently living in The Netherlands he continues to challenge himself by keeping his unique sound, whilst allowing his projects to start as empty spaces, twisting and tweaking his sounds to a place where it satisfyingly ends up ….. Also in Netherlands he met J(ay).A.D a hunter gatherer from deep in the amazon forest of Suriname. Where he protects the rain forest from evil. one day He created a track that was a combination of Juke/footwork with Kawina, Dancehall, Dub and Grime that caused a chemical reaction what erupted from the process giving him Super powers to vanquish all horrible music from the world.
Thomas White - a name that’s quickly catching on. Well know in his hometown of Montreal as one of the founding members of RAW Records and a man known to bring the party. Deep bass, sexy vocals and a signature rhythm that is unmatched by others. Thomas White sets himself apart from the crowd by pushing the boundaries of a multitude of genres. Influences of Grime and Trap stand strongly amongst the vibes of 90s RnB. With multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 and a large local support make sure to keep an eye on the moves this young producer is about to make.
Respect to everyone who supports us by spreading the word, reposting and donating!
